Variations on a Theme (or jazz out of nowhere) is a theatre piece that suggests there is more than one way to skin a cat.

There are handshakes, greetings, walking, and free hugs.
There is fire and ice, and rain, and the sea.
The lift’s too small to hold us – we’ve a lot of invisible baggage.
There’s black smoke in the air and a broken plate on the floor…
