A new contemporary performance exploring what it means to be a man today.
This show explores issues such as toxic masculinity, societal expectations of men, traditional male stereotypes, male mental health and non-sexual male affection.
Drawing from the company members own experiences and research, we have devised a piece made up of multiple scenes which all explore issues men face in their everyday lives. From the absurd to the extra-daily, the comedic to the sincere, these scenes interrogate the values that are held within a patriarchal society.
Sola Virum Ensemble are pleased to be working in association with the University of Lincoln Wellbeing Service and Manwell – a wellbeing support group for any student who identifies as male, to talk openly about any challenges they may have experienced.
