Site/Sight/Cite, a series of exhibitions. Instagram: @site.sight.cite

Thursday 20th – Friday 21st May 2021 | Various Locations

Anglia Self Storage / Liquorice Park / Across Lincoln / Online

53N,0.5W | Across Lincoln

53.2307°0.5406° is a collective of artists attempting to bring their work into the public space. Their works experiment with the concept of change whether it be in the way people manoeuvre the streets, the transitioning of the streets themselves amongst people or people in relation to the surrounding environments. There are also pieces on the natural aspects of our industrialisation speaking on native plants thriving through it.

All these will be explored over multiple works across Lincoln. Keep your eyes out for QR codes scattered amongst each location to learn more about the works and potentially convince you to explore and find others

Befreon | Online

The Befreon team have attempted to recreate a studio setting by sending a sketchbook through the post, artist to artist, allowing us all to collaborate.

We have coordinated our mail art via social media, primarily an Instagram account which is suitable for adults. Our individual sites provide a wide range of art which is all underpinned by the idea of giving new life to the lost and forgotten.

Haeream | Liquorice Park

The importance of this word upon our work is immense as it embodies out ideas and hopes for the project. It gives the magical perspective on ordinary things, for who could be more enchanted by the world than us artists? We will use this word to inspire the artwork we produce and hope it lives within our project as we breathe life into the myths and folklores that surround this historic town.

Haeream (pronounced Ha-reem) is the name of our project; full of fairy magic, zodiac power, mysterious imps, glowing vegetation and mystical lights, and we will infuse its power of enchantment into our work and of hope into the lives of those who view it.

11 12 14 | Anglia Self-Storage

Memories and Loneliness. Two words we are all too familiar with. Project 11 12 14 offers an experience for all to contend with.

Three separate containers, with three separate experiences, designed to evoke emotion and connect with the viewer. 11 12 14 focuses on memories and loneliness, but each piece touches on these themes in different manners. Designed to fully immerse the viewer in each piece, with them being inside storage containers, it completely cuts the outside world off, allowing for the viewer to be completely embodied by each piece.

With the work being displayed in such a way as to isolate the viewer, individuals will take it in turns to experience each piece which allows for a very personal interaction with each work. Intended to be experienced alone, people are encouraged to explore and to let the works take them on a journey.

Attention | Online

An exhibition exploring personal aspects of military life, the artists of Attention exhibit their work not in a space but at a moment in time.

Documentation of the works attempts to capture them in an amber time capsule, leaving only the remnants and the memory, never allowing the audience to experience the artwork as it truly was when it lived and breathed in that crossroads of time and place. With this exhibition they hope to provoke a sense of history in a place, encouraging the viewer to remember that places have memory and making them wonder what stories a place could hold.
