Students of Lincoln School of Fine and Performing Arts are delighted to be welcoming back audiences for a season of brand-new art and performance.

Music, dance, fine art, theatre and performance of all kinds are taking place over May and June as emerging artists and creatives from across the University of Lincoln’s Fine and Performing Arts courses showcase their talent.

The season is underway, and events so far have included the student curated Nebula Music Festival, a weekend of live music of all genres for all tastes, and pop-up exhibition The Fine Art Body which welcomed audiences back on to campus for the first exhibition this year.

Upcoming highlights include the annual LSFPA Dance Showcase – two nights of sharp dance and choreography from students, LSFPA staff, and visiting guest artists which for the first time will be live-streamed from Lincoln Performing Arts Centre. Also, a speci al exhibition, Groundings, which will feature art works made as the result of a unique project which paired BA Fine Artists with service users of the alcohol, drug, and mental health charity We Are With You.

The three performances have been led by professional theatre makers who have directed and supported the students to create and rehearse in Covid-secure conditions.

Meanwhile the third years will be presenting their LSFPA Drama & Theatre Degree Show Festival with shows looking at what it means to be ‘ladylike’, mental health in young men, and a very surreal exploration of the colour yellow.

Planning for the the LSFPA BA Fine Art Degree Show is also fully underway with Project Space Plus gallery on the Lincoln Campus throwing open its doors on June 4th for a celebratory private view event.

What they have produced over the past year, despite all the uncertainty and upset, is a testament to their skill and strength. I’m looking forward to seeing all the results of their hard work.”
